Microsoft security essentials will be maintained and updated for
windows xp for another year. Moreover, there will be a range of other
antivirus utilities available to xp users. There's still a large
constituency of people who use xp and for one reason or another will
not be able to upgrade to windows 7 or 8 just yet.
