Subject: Re: Windows XP and window eyes 9
It’s not so much that they’ve plugged “all security holes” with the latest
versions of Windows, so much as that they won’t be plugging newly
discovered vulnerabilities in Windows XP in not very long from now. And you
can bet that within hours of the Windows XP deadline, security
vulnerabilities *will* be found and exploited. While it’s also true that
vulnerabilities will be found with Windows Vista and later, those will be
more likely to be fixed, and fixed soon, since the likelihood that XP will
get any attention is pretty close to zero after April 8th. Be very sure
that there will be unscrupulous peoplee trolling for XP systems after
Microsoft stops supporting them, and be also assured that those systems
will get compromised in one way or another, whether as unwilling
participants in a bot net, or who knows what.
So, no, it really isn’t the current state of XP that anyone’s worried
about. It’s the future prospect, even likelihood, of trouble.
