Hi, Sherry! I've had other notetakers as well and it took me a while to get used to saving things before shutting down the BrailleSense Plus, too! So, at least at home, if I have to stop what I'm doing for a little bit, I leave the unit on. Of course, when I know I won't be back, I make sure it's off and the case is closed. I'm probably phenatical about keeping equipment in their cases, but they stay looking good always that way!
