Hi Ed (and others),

I'd love to do the 75 miles at an 18-19mph pace tomorrow morning.  Do you know
the route so we can have our own ride at that pace?  Looking forward to seeing
you at 7am!

Diane

Is there a group that wants to do this but an 18-19 pace (20-21 is killing me
this year)?  Let me know. If we can get enough people we can have an A- ride.
If not, I will ride with the hill flies until I get dropped J.

Subject: [Gyros: 13248] 6/20 Weekly Ride Schedule!

G's,

It is going to be a cooker this weekend.  Close to 100 degrees.  Let's get in a
ride and leave early to beat the heat.  Start time will be 7am.

We'll do a variation of the "Big Snow Hill Chill" Route.  How appropriate is
that with this heat?  Think cold Saturday!

Here is the schedule for the week:

http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2927560
(Rest stop in Rougemont @ 37 miles)

(B GROUP - Maria)
Maria will post all the information for her ride.

1. Kim's Recovery Ride leaves from Blue Jay Point @ 8am. (38 miles @ 17-18mph

All ride locations can be found on our website
@http://www.raleighgyros.com/locations.htm

THE PLAN:
One or more groups will leave with the intent of riding as a group at a target
pace. We will try to cover the same routes, albeit a shorter distance for the
slower group, so if you're struggling or want to ride at an easier pace, you
can move back to a slower group. If you're already in the slowest group, the
ride leader will check to make sure you can make your way back alone or with
another volunteer. You'll know within the first 7 miles whether or not you're
strong enough to maintain the pace. The general rule is that you should be able
to maintain at least a 19+mph pace for the A Group, 18mph pace for 40-50 miles
with the B+ Group or a 16mph pace for 30-40 miles with the B Group, when
considering which group to ride with. If you can not maintain these paces, then
it is suggested that you consider the C/B- Sunday ride. (Please refer to the
link above).

Each group should make a concerted effort to keep the group together but there
will always be those who want to pick up the pace on the return. It is more
appropriate to do this the last 5-7 miles of a ride. The short hammer sessions,
that are always inevitable during our rides, will not be affected.

Thanks, Tony
