Thanks Dave. Honestly I have no idea of the issues here and had no idea that Tony was in the hot seat on this. He obviously is passionate about having a great club. It always seems to be the case that 2-3 members of cycling clubs do most of the work until they burn out. Some of us just keep ticking a little longer than others! :)
To me the Gyros Google group was a source for exchange of community information. We have a Google rides list here in GSO that is wide open. I would be interested to learn about the legal issues that created the need to go "private". This does not seem to be happening in many communities, but might it be a future trend? Our Greensboro Velo Club just re-joined the League of American Bicyclists, principally to obtain insurance for their organized road rides, but they haven't been advised to exclude non members from casual not-for-fee rides. What are we missing here? Thanks and I hope your club grows and propers! Dale On Tue, Mar 15, 2011 at 12:56 PM, Dave Naderman <[email protected]>wrote: > I am going to step in and defend Tony.
