yes, I suppose the world would be a better place if we would not see so much evil in each other.
Oh and I do question my manhood almost every day!
I do not think Microsoft as evil and in fact I use their product on a daily basis.

I think the word evil (that google has been using) and evangelist (that everybody in US seems to be using)
should be taken with a pinch of humour.

I find it good for the whole computer market that we have 3 strongly supported operating systems.
Each with their own distinct flavour and ecosystem.
And I am happy for you if you have found reliable systems that work with a minimum of hassle and personal attention. The hassle always starts with me when I want to do something they don't say in the manual.

Long live the freedom of choice!

Ps. Sorry Thomas, I know how you hate this type of meaningless rambling on your most professional mailing list.

But does this prove that Apple does not try to use dirty tricks or that it does

I've shot down your first example. Try another.

Aside from the fact that it was lifted...since when are Linux geeks concerned
with the welfare of a proprietary developer tool like Flash? It is neither free
nor open. You should be cheering that Apple has neutered Flash and is pushing
the use of HTML 5 which is an open standard.
The Lord moves in mysterious ways.

I'm not sure what exactly you are trying to communicate.

How is all this not a violation of the GPL?
Look at the bigger picture man and you'll see ;-)

What is the bigger picture? I don't get it. I just see big companies walking
all over the GPL and the linux geeks have nothing to say about it.

All the chicks and gay artists want a Mac.
They do exploit that :-)
Is a Java programmer questioning the manhood of people? Learn some C++ and put
some hair on your chest! :-)
Questioning other people's manhood is my favorite pastime.
But I must admit. I do not have hair growing on my chest.
And I have always been jealous of George Michael's beard. And he's gay?!?

Can't say that I have ever been a gay artist, a woman, or jealous of anything
of George Michael's. So, perhaps you should be questioning your own manhood.

For my part, I don't buy any PC hardware besides Apple's. I have no time for
cheap junk PCs and certainly don't have time to putz with Linux. I want
reliable systems that work with a minimum of hassle and personal attention. I
want to focus on the task I'm trying to accomplish....not worry about if my
audio driver is crashing the latest Linux kernel I downloaded. I do recognize
that people such as yourself do enjoy putzing with Linux and mixing and
matching your own hardware, and that is fine with me. Have a ball. I just want
you to understand that there are other valid preferences beside your own to
which Apple's ecosystem appeals.

Just because Apple doesn't service your desires doesn't make the company dirty
or evil or on-par with Microsoft.
