Strong -1. It is simply unfeasible to expect people to read through logs and catch up with what discussions have happened.
IRC is great for bouncing ideas around, but it is *not* a reviewable medium. It is too conversational and far-ranging to be efficiently reviewed. Somehow, I think you might be trying to make a point....
