Hi Lorenzo,

We need to define why do we want a release.

IMO the main point of a release is to create
a stable core feature set for users not following
this list closely. Even better if there are no bugs,
but it would be a pipe dream to think there
won't be any found even after 1.0 FINAL.

For those who follow the list, the release may
seem like something superfluous (myself included),
but it's still important to build a user base.

The current state of Harbour is perfectly enough
for most ppl wanting to port Clipper apps to other
platforms, and even much more.

Consequently, I think we should to the release
rather quickly, since the feature set is stable by
now, and no major bugs are known. Fixing the rest
can always be done in the 1.0 RC branch.

Then we should unlock the feature set ASAP to go
for MT and the rest. I'm also awaiting these cool
things.

Brgds,
Viktor

Just like many other things below I'm attaching some small

BTW HB_TRACE() is not used in default compilation and fully
stripped so it's used only in custom debug builds.

Just a question, isn't it an option to slip the rc1 and add the MT?

IMHO MT is a key feature and adding it to 1.1 or 2.0 will make 1.0
very soon obsolete.

We took 8 years to get to 1.0 we can wait some weeks/months for it.

If we need a release now we can call it beta4. Nobody expects main
changes between RCs.

best regards,
Lorenzo
