When I try to install patch 98, I read this file:

PSN-4_SEQ-93_PAT-98.TXT

It specifies that I should load

NDF4P98.KID

But this file is not on the FTP server. The largest similar file is:

NDF4P97.KID

The date in the .txt file gives Compliance Date: JUL 16, 2005, so
perhaps the FTP server just needs to be caught up.

What should I do?

For patching out of sequence, you only have a few options:

1. Ignore the problem and hope for the best (least desirable, and definitely NOT recommended)
2. Review the patch and see if you were supposed to install it, anyway.
3. Back up and start patching from that point.
4. For routines (only), you can compare checksums on your system with the before and after checksums in the patch description. 5. Manually wok through the dependencies and determine which components are up to date.
6. Lobby for an improved method of handling patches (my preference).

Option 5 can be more difficult than you might think, but it may be your only choice.
