Select OPTION: 5 INQUIRE TO FILE ENTRIES OUTPUT FROM WHAT FILE: OPTION// Select OPTION NAME: HFS DEVICE SETUP VAFC HFS SETUP HFS Device Setup ANOTHER ONE: STANDARD CAPTIONED OUTPUT? In the setup, the directory NAME (#.01) field should contain a directory location that is wide open (read, write, edit, and delete) to all. If these files are not set up, the inbound requests will default to the working Broker Server directory which may or may not have enough privileges to allow a remote system to pull the necessary information. Please check to see that your directory has the appropriate privileges. Not sure what is going on - I suspect that there is something wrong with my setup or environment. I am not sure what all the newer scripts are doing and how it is setup with the last release from Bhaskar. I didn't set it up in the directory 'myVistA' and the scripts are setting up a parent directory which references vista_home=$PWD, I'll have to check all of this, as it is new to me. It could be something that they use to facilitate the full live CD installation or maybe you need to install into a 'myVistA' directory to maintain the paths etc? Has anyone ran into trouble with this? The other question is - and this is looming pretty large - what I am going to do about a production system? Should I push on with the FOIA? I fear the various patches that have to be applied i.e. for example to maintain a local MPI - while this approach could work - what happens when something goes wrong? And how can we take advantage of the rich business and management tools that are there but tied into something specific to the VA. What elements could we get working? Would it be better to use the HUI 4 release? Is there another choice that includes GT.M and my general preference for free software and running things locally. What was the consensus from those who attended the meetings last week? I would prefer to push on with help from the list and any consultants who could work with us, while leaving the code or information that is gained on the Wiki for others to use. Or is there a "Red Hat, Inc."-like VistA company out there that I don't know about? Should I contact Medsphere or are they just working with hospital systems? I did see the ASP model that has been launched, but I would prefer to run the system on our server here and in the process, as time allows, to learn and study it. (VistA,M/GT.M) I had sent some mail to the developers of the Gov/SSI-IHSS/Mexican system - I was wondering if their code could be adapted for such purposes. I haven't heard back. The main hospital here, Providence, is opening a full lab next door to our facility (on the shared strip/campus) so ideally we would like to interface our VistA system with their lab transmissions. They will be opening about 3 weeks from now. Any help or advice in getting our clinic up and running would be much appreciated. And I very much appreciate the help and patience of all those who respond to my rudimentary questions. -- Ismet B. Kursunoglu, MD, FCCP Medical Director Alaska Clinic, LLC 3750 E.
