I'm still working towards achieving computing bliss...but I still have hurtles to clear....
1) Dual displays.. I have two Samsung 204B...these run at 1600 x 1200. However, their color is quite different, to the point of distracting. I've tried and tried but they can't be made (so far) to match up. Anyone else experience this kind of thing? 2) XFX Geforce 8800 GTS XXX 640 MB When I put this card on the two displays mentioned , both on the DVI input, one of them starts blinking on and off at intermittent intervals. I tried switching the monitors but that didn't matter....the same monitor blinks on and off. This didn't happen at all when driving it with the ATI9800 Pro. Seems like the switch brought it on....Is it the card or the monitor (which, was working fine prior to the switch). 3) Viewsonic & Samsung To further test the problem in 2, I put a low end Viewsonic on there in place of the monitor that was acting flaky. It runs at 1440 x 920. So far (just made the switch this morning) it doesn't show the blinking problem. Still, the displays look quite different, even after trying to use nVidia's software to adjust the displays. Also the resolution difference (1440 x 920 vs. 1600 x 1200) is distracting, at best. 4) WS vs 4:3 These WS LCDs seem to offer less vertical real estate with increased horizontal space. However, two 4:3s running at 1600 x 1200 offer way more horizontal space than even the largest WS that is affordable. Do any of you prefer dual 4:3s vs either dual WS or just a big WS? I'm just wondering what's the best way to go if I end up buying a new LCD to deal with the problems mentioned above.
