Still don't know what might arrive? Completed the order. It crashed!

Is there a top-tier xdsl modem I can buy and use w/ATT?
(ATT wants $75 for their supplied modem; and, it may be re-furbished!)
What their "compatible equipment" list shows is:
2Wire, HomePortal 1G/1M/1100 Residential DSL Gateway (never heard of them)
2Wire, HomePortal 1000SW Residential DSL Gateway (never heard of them)
Efficient Networks SpeedStream 5887 (external ethernet) (never heard of them)
Westell WireSpeed DMT (external ethernet) (not sure of WesTell?)
Hmm...............(your comments?)
I will search further tonite.... :)
Have a D-Link DGL-4300 Router just waiting to connect.......
(and, Hayes, it works well. Complex LITTLE sucker I must say!)
