I would assume the D-Link would work fine.
About the router on the modem. I don't know. It only has 1 rj45 jack. I read that for the Linksys to work with the Westell 6100 "DSL2+Router", DHCP would have to be disabled on the Linksys. I tried it at first, but nothing worked. So as it is set up right now, all services are enabled on the Linksys and everything works fine. I don't know how to change the settings on the Westell. Maybe the router services built into the 6100 is disabled by default? The 6100 that just says "DSL Modem" is connected to the Netgear and has been working great. _____ From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of DHSinclair Sent: Monday, October 08, 2007 4:26 PM To: The Hardware List Subject: RE: [H] thinking broadband? Oops! missed the link to Linksys and Netgear "routers." That is what I am attempting to get to. I have a D-Link Router....................... :) Would you suppose Westell works well with D-Link? Both have worked well with Linksys and Netgear routers. Pretty solid. Needed to reset maybe 1-2x a year. -rich _____ From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of DHSinclair Sent: Monday, October 08, 2007 3:45 PM To: The Hardware List Subject: RE: [H] thinking broadband? HBest, At best, my question may have been apples to oranges comparison. LOL Glad to know someone has experience w/Westell. I have no idea what att may send me in the end! Just wondering about what they say are "compatible." Concerned becuz there were no "normal" names. Hmm. TNX. UR2cents R worth the mint ATM. Good news. (btw, the order crashed! They did not like something......) I'll try again later this evening. Best, Duncan At 15:18 10/08/2007 -0400, you wrote: I use Verizon DSL and the modem they supplied was a Westell. (Don't have time at the moment to check model number) It has seemed a solid modem. Only twice in more that 3 years have I needed to unplug it and reboot it. I have used it with 3 different models of Netgear routers. (2 wired and one wired/wireless). May be comparing apples to oranges, but just putting my 2 cents in.
