I completely understand the administration issues with using FF in
enterprise. And it's a valid argument. What is not valid is making the
argument that FF is less secure, and I think that's where this threat
started.
Firefox is by FAR the more secure browser. IMO it is the best tool for
browsing the web.
It is also emphatically *NOT* free when you take into considerations all
the costs needed to migrate.
IE costs have already been spent, migrating would add to that.
I wish it were not so. If someone could integrate Firefox into having a
central management server (Groups for users with different settings for
firefox depending on group, addon management through a console interface,
etc.) Hell, make it an MMC snap-in similar to how Symantec Antivirus
Corporate works and you'd get a lot of enterprises switching.
Meh, it is all an exercise of the mind at this point.
