Understand. Seems like the present "jury" is equally split from my
reads. Half use 'em and like 'em, and half don't use 'em and push gently
toward "snake oil." LOL!
I have used my "cleaner CD" since the mid-80's. I use mine ~every 6
months or so; or, whenever I have an optical that is being less than
stellar. I have never had the nads to open an optical and PM as
Anthony's share suggests (interesting read). And, as Gaffer suggests
(and I agree!), the current cost of optical drives (don't mean Blu-Ray
here) is still reasonable, I just replace the unit.
