I'm not involved in this sticky situation but if it were me and the manufacturer was footing the bill for the chipset recall I'd take advantage of it just to be safe. You know ASUS and the others will just de-solder those chips and sell those motherboards as re-manufactured. It must really sting Intel knowing how much lost revenue the board makers are going to suffer. Unless Intel compensates them somehow with that Billion $'s they've set aside. I'm not too fond of Intel as many of you are well aware but kudo's to them for manning up so quickly to deal with the problem.

If I can find some time I need to go over these article b4 I make any hasty decisions. Will probably wait a little ( do to other pressing matters). I wonder IF there will be a recall. Do computer company's do recalls ?

Well, it now occurs to me that some of us are lucky. We still have 4 usable sata ports, 2 usable e-sata ports, 3 usable usb ports and we can get overclocks to 4.6+ GHz now. The Egg has taken all their x67 off the market.

I just realized that I own an Asus u3s6, which gives me another 2 usb 3.0 ports and 2 more 6 GB sata ports.

LOL on, Bryan, but I ain't cryin! :)

Bryan,
If that is your best puerile shot, so be it. Laughing at others unknown misfortune does very little good for the thread. But, as always, I consider the source!!! LOL!

From what I can tell, yes, all series 6 chipsets are affected.

The processor is fine--the issue is in the chipset. They are -all-
impacted;
new silicon will not be available until February. It also appears to
be a longevity related problem.
So both the P67 and the H67?
