Yes I do think that the general populace can be manipulated to the whims of 
corporations. But the Internet is both a blessing and a curse for them. 

Remember the Bose fiasco?  If it were not for the Internet a lot of people 
would think that they are the bees knees. But that being said a lot of people 
still think that Bose is the best. I really think it comes down to personality. 
I do extensive research on everything I want to buy and make my own decisions.
