Unless the PSU is defective, or you're serving up two processors and/or two high-end GPUs, it's unlikely to be a power issue (at least in terms of PSU utilization).
I ran a massively overclocked 6-core i7 processor, factory-overclocked GTX460, and 19 HDs off a 6yo Seasonic S12-600W until I replaced it recently with a Seasonic Platinum 1000. The only time I could exceed its output was when running the newest Linpack binaries (which is not representative of any real-world load by a good margin) + Furmark (which, again, far exceeds real-world GPU loads). > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] [mailto:hardware- > [email protected]] On Behalf Of FORC5 > Sent: Friday, December 30, 2011 2:56 PM > To: [email protected] > Subject: [H] WD Drive ? > > Picked up a couple of WD Black 2tb drives a couple of months back, > recently installed and running but make funny noises. > > Normal for these big drives or should I make sure I have replacements > in stock ? even though prices have almost doubled since I bought > these.
