Unfortunately non of the educational staff expressed interest so I ended up tossing filmstrips (and video tapes) in both the synagogue and public school. I do think even this "outmoded" technology has its advantages: being able to make an image as large as the space permits, being able to show details because the image is large, being able to stop and concentrate on one frame. Though it's been some years since I used a filmstrip, there was a certain magic for young children in the darkening of the room and then suddenly a picture appeared. I guess it was the novelty of something they had not seen before as we used filmstrips long after they had been replaced by tapes and then discs.
Maybe you can find a place for them in an institution that has not been able to upgrade its technology.
