I use both of those series for my conservative elementary school students and
they are quite successful.
If you can manage to find the series "In the beginning" animated by Osamu
Tezuka, produced by the Nippon Television network, I would HIGHLY recommend it.
It is a 25 volume set from 1995 and it is my most prized and popular set in the
collection. While it does include the story of Jesus in the last tape the rest
of the series is a Old Testament and is well done. Unlike some other sets, it
also has some of the more "unfindable" stories, like Abraham and Isaac, as well
as breaking down some of the bigger stories to smaller episodes (ie Joseph and
his coat, Joseph in Egypt, etc...)
I got it at Biblemovies.com - also a Christian site, but this series is very
appropriate. I despair that I haven't found it on DVD so far.
Good luck

Hi,
There is a series called 'Animated Stories from the Bible' available from
www.nestlearning.com<http://www.nestlearning.com/>. It is a Christian-oriented
company. However, I spoke with a rep who told me that a Rabbi sat on their
Board, reviewed all of the animated films of stories from the Hebrew Bible, and
deemed them suitable for Jewish children.

Also, I think that the Hanna-Barbera series is okay.
Thanks,
Natasha

Please share your findings with the listserv. There are so many children's
stories that have a Christian undertone it would be nice to see which are
appropriate for Jewish children.

Hello,
Could someone please advise me as to which series of Bible Stories are suitable
for Jewish children? I understand the Hanna Barbera series is fine. What about
the 'Greatest Heroes and Legends of the Bible' series? Are those stories from
the Hebrew Bible also appropriate for our day school?

Thank-you,
