Subject: Re: [Hdf-forum] HDF View file process
To: HDF Users Discussion List <[email protected]>

 Dear Roger, Peter, Elena

Thanks for your suggestions but unsuccessful. I am not sure which format
the file is carrying whether HDF4 or HDF5.
I downloaded H5check which I didnot understand its head and tail as i am not
from programming background.

As peter suggested, I tried to change the file types from Tools => User
options that also didnt work.
as a second suggestion to check sample data provided in samples folder from
HDFview install location,
open dialog shows list of hdf files but when tried to open them pops up an
error message "failed to open file - unsupported file format"

According to Elena's suggestion, Images are not downloded from
http://modis.gsfc.nasa.gov/data/dataprod/dataproducts.php?
but downloaded from http://neo.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov/search.html.
Here in HDFView main window I saw "4" and "5" both the icons are disabled
where even submenus in File => New => HDF4 and HDF5 are disabled.

Kindly advise me, is there any problem in the application or in files?

Thanks and Regards
Mahesh
