Harsh J commented on HDFS-3598:
-------------------------------
The 'append' of HDFS needs special requirements - it will reject the operation
if any of the files but the tailing file in the sources list does not carry a
length equal to a multiple of their common block size. This is to keep the
block size uniform in the target file for all but the ultimate block. Details
are on HDFS-222 (including interesting comments that the mixed sizes case did
'work').
Likewise, if LFS gets it, it has no such restrains.

> In trunk and branch-2, DistributedFileSystem has a new concat(Path trg, Path
> [] psrcs) method. WebHDFS should support it.
