Hi list members, Nadav is right that on Linux, adding hspell to your English OpenOffice is easy, using the add-on hspell package we released. However, this is not the case on Windows, which may be what Gil had in mind when he said that there wasn't spellchecking on OOo. Originally, when I worked on hspell adaptation for Hebrew OOo, I built it as part of the OOo source tree. I was able to take the resulting hspell library and without any modification, package it for use with English OOo, and it worked. So we released it for public use. On Windows this was not the case. I couldn't simply register the existing dll from the Hebrew version with English OOo and have it work, apparently because of differences between our build environment and the environment which was used to build the released English OOo. Theoretically, this could be worked out in a number of ways, but our limited resources are being used to further the Hebrew version of OOo. (Right now our priority is improving Microsoft Hebrew document import.) If anyone wants to take on the job, the source code for hspell adaptation is available at our website http://www.openoffice.org.il.
