Once the wallboard is on, you will see a huge increase in strength. You can also buy "hurricane straps" from home depot. They are just thin metal braces with holes in them you can bend to same angle as your walls and screw together on the inside. It also gives a cool wood wall finish and you wont kick a hole in your wall.
