I'm hoping for some suggestions of what sort of costuming might go
well with a more or less French folk HG. Every year in October I
participate in a local program in Bloomington, Indiana called the
Ghost Walk and go playing my gurdy to accompany processions of
students and other people around to see supposedly haunted sites. The
past three years I have gone as a monk, but this year I am looking
for something different. I would like whatever I find to be something
that would also work well for busking, perhaps something "old
looking" to people.
As a note, I do NOT want to be dressed as a jester, particularly not
in one of those ridiculous polyester jobs in dayglo colors that you
can find everywhere.
I should also mention that I am more interested in patterns than in
any pre-made costume, since anything worth having for use as a busker
and for processions will really need to be custom made. If anyone has
any suggestions for what might work well, please let me know. (Also,
since my name does not reveal my gender, I am male, so
recommendations for "merry wench" or "peasant lassie" outfits would
not help me.)
Best,
Arle
