Fantastic!  I had no idea about mail-archive.com  This should be made known to everyone on the list (as it is now) and when they join!  Maybe people could do a search there for 'sticky keys' before they post to the list?

At the moment, there seems to be nothing but disinterest in a bbs, which is fine.  As I mentioned in my post, it's either going to work for everybody, or it's no worth doing.  I'll wait 24 hours or so to gauge broader interest - if it's not there, I'll take it down and not bother.

I find the question of bbs vs. email list quite interesting.  There are some email lists that I'm on and the format works for me quite well (likely because there is very little traffic) and the messages are very relevant.  And there are other forum-type things that don't work for me at all!  The Yahoo forums are not to my taste because it's not organised into broader topics, just a linear flow of messages (more like email).  The forum/bbs things that I like tend to be moderately organised, fairly busy, and have a rather nice feel of community.  I find when the emails flow in and out (and get deleted), I don't get that sense.

Thanks to those of you who have put in your $0.02 so far!

Regards,

ben

I, for one, will not use a forum type system.  [...]

I agree 100%, for the same reasons.
