Somebody else here in Italy said the same :-)
The problem with Pavarotti (that's sadly approaching
to the "final curtain" now) is that he was a really
great singer when he was young, but he became a "most
famous" singer when he was not-so-young (and great).
So, as usual, it's an audience's problem and not his
own fault!
