I suppose you are talking about sympathetic string setup. There are
probably actual pins on the butt end and Steel pin tuners on the head
end. Lighter steel strings should run the length of the instrument and
ring off of the soundboard (sympathetic vibration). It's a nice effect.
I would have to check D&H for the exact strings, but I remember "Guitar
B". If this is not what you are asking about, then I haven't a clue. If
it is then the pegs are probably opposite the player and run well clear
of the wheel.

I have seen as many as 4 chanters ( a G pair and a D pair. and
corresponding drones and mouches/trompettes. Mine only has 8: 3
chanters, 2 drones, 2 trompettes and a mouche. I don't like the mouche
sound and mostly keep it strung up to keep my shoulder strap off the
trompettes. Your gurdy may vary...

but more problem to tune  i assume ..
