Darn!
We have B&Q in the UK and every one I looked at (tool cases etc) was too small
by a couple of inches. I ended up buying a flat-pack storage chest which was
just the right size (well, a little too high but spot on length and width) and
covered the inside with thin sheet foam.
It does fit in the back of the car but, being wood, is a little heavy to carry.
At home it's a small piece of furniture and it does protect the instrument well.
Wouldn't do for transporting other than in the trunk of a car though but only
cost around $10.
Transport from the US to UK tends to be a little on the expensive side.

  Hello Everyone,

I'm new to the list (and Hurdy Gurdy's) and have just purchased an Altarwind
'Donovan' HG.

I was looking for a hard case and found an inexpensive one at Walmart for
$17.85. It's called a 'Deluxe Trunk Locker' and
it is in the Automotive Department. So, if you live in the U.S. (do they
have Walmart in Europe? ) it's a cheap alternative to the Pelican.
However, it is not watertight and may not float for very long.

I can send pictures if you contact me off-list
