SO is the Pelican 1660 the one?
I cannot say that it is "the one", but I can vouch for the strength,
durability, and overall protective nature of Pelican cases.
We use a lot of them at work to transport delicate electronic
equipment to and from ships for tests...where they get thrown down
companion ladders, dropped from pallets, and used as chairs/step
stools. All with no ill effects to the contents.
I'm a happy customer.
If you live in a very damp environment, I recommend putting some
silica gel or other dessicant in the case when not in use, to keep
the foam clean and fresh. That might only be an issue on the water...
YMMV.
