I'm fairly new to the hurdy gurdy also, but on several recommendations, I purchased a Korg CA-30 chromatic tuner for about $20. It even comes with a battery. It's very easy to use and will do the job. Especially when adjusting the tangents. It is readily available at any guitar shop. Just make sure you get the chromatic tuner, not the guitar tuner. Good luck.
