and dont forget that gmax also incorporates 3dsmax 4's animation
capabilities... so it might really a nice tool for every modder would have,
but it may or may not replace the full fledged tools that we currently use
today like WC.

just importers and exporters of smds/animations or maybe to directly to mdl
as the current plug-in for gmax for quake3 which exports the model into
their md3 format.

The level editor would be an ADDON for this MODEL editor. Level editing is
something that this model editor is capable of doing.. the way you read the
information and interpret it is important.

Look at it this way. You would consider 3d Studio Max to be a model editor,
right? Of course.

Rainbow 6's levels were made in 3d Studio Max.
