Erik, I'm only going on past experience that I and a few others have had. We've sent several suggestions and issues via email. Some even had the sourcecode to add to the SDK. It's been a few patches now and we still didn't hear anything or seen any of the changes made. They were pretty innocent and tested additions too.
Also, I've been following some of the other developers of MODs and mappers that have run into issues where their problems haven't been resolved. Sorry if it sounds ridiculous, but, if you want a list of all outstanding suggestions, issues, and feature requests, I'm sure one or a few can be arranged. =\ Eric Hall described it pretty well too.
