Can I ask if these suggested settings are for a bandwidth optimised server
or are there limitations of the game engine causing a decrease in peformance
when the settings are at full whack?
I am currently running 3 X 20slot dod:s servers on 1 box all with the
settings:
tickrate - 100
fps_max 300
sv_minupdaterate 20
sv_maxupdaterate 101
sv_minrate 4000
sv_maxrate 25000
Although all the servers have not been full at one time, when one was full
my ping was still very good, server cpu load was floating between 20% and
25% sometimes peaking up to 30% but as I said i'm not sure what the load is
like when all the processes are full as they havent all been filled yet!

DoD is harder on resources than CS is
Try
tickrate 50
fps_max 300
15000
3000
50
25
And work down from there
Unless of course you are already at defaults in which case I'd make it a
14
player server. :)

Can someone suggest what would be the best rate
settings for 20 player DOD:S ?

sv_maxrate ?
sv_minrate ?
sv_maxupdaterate ?
sv_minupdaterate ?

I used settings like I did before for CSS but people
have been complaining about game lag.

Thank you for any helpful info at all.
