On the subject of "overlays" would it be possibly to add an overall "config" overlay path option so that all server config information i.e. base server config, mapcyclefile, motdfile, logsdir could all be held under a single directory? Why? Well this would make multi server installs 100% easier, a simple: +serverdir "server1" Would be all thats needed instead of: +sv_logsdir "server1/logs" +servercfgfile "server1/server.cfg" +motdfile "server1/motd.txt" +exec "server1/server.cfg" But the most important part is other cfg files would be easily accessible via exec using rcon etc. So instead of people having to remember to use the server dir in exec i.e. rcon exec "server1/match.cfg" They could just use: rcon exec match.cfg Similar concepts exist in Q3 based games i.e. the search path and in BattleField with +overlayPath and it makes things so much easier and user friendly it would be great to see this added to Source.
