I'm sure valve could release server plugins that mask the exploits just as well as I could - it's very different from actually fixing the code behind it though. They do need to straighten their testing process out a bit, but it's not like i'm doing anything on the scale of what they have to do on their end to properly fix it, so cut them some slack.
