In what way? I haven't seen any problems with it. I limit the server to my
Steam group and make it exclusive and it works just fine.

Steam group option is broke, worthless right now. There are several topics on
the subject now.

Re: [hlds] L4D Steam Group Servers
Re: [hlds] L4D search_key server good for only 1 use?

You could always have sv_steamgroup_exclusive cvar set to 1 all the time.
That's what we do with our private server. We start a lobby, execute a config
that lets us connect to our private server and if we don't get enough clan
members, we change it to public and join the server. We can get on that server
any time we want.

Yes but it should just work™ instead of having to play with the server every
time you want to join or make a game. For a community it's useless. Maybe
for a group of friends it would work because you all decide you want to
play, but what if your community members want to play and they don't have
contact with you? Then they end up on a random server because yours doesn't
allow them to connect because it's broken or something.
