I really do believe that if the community servers start to die out, TF2 will plunge in popularity like never seen before. And with the recent changes, including the aformentioned view on community servers, it has a slight chance of happening. What they are doing is somewhat wrong, in my opinion. Any game developer, let alone Valve's TF2 team, should hear the community out first, then do things.
