When I test this, though I can't see players across the map, I can see
players behind 2-3 walls. Perhaps it is a limitation of your gpu that
you are not seeing them until you should (i.e., it isn't processing
fast enough). just a thought...

I have to say, this is great for watching demos of suspected cheaters.
I have two boxes, one is my new game box (w/ ATI card), the other is my
test box (old game box w/ a geforce card). I dont connect to game
servers with Box #2, mainly because I was using a wallhack to watch
demos submitted by my regs.

When 1.6 came out, I pretty much stopped trying to review demos with
cheats on, just because I was paranoid about VAC possibly detecting it
since 1.6 forces you to auth through Steam even when running a
listenserver. I dont keep up on the latest cheats, just had an old
wallhack that worked through 1.5, and i'm sure it would have been
detected in 1.6. This driver bug, though lamentable that it exists, has
made it easier to start reviewing demos again.

I have to imagine that any one who goes to the trouble to play HL in
D3D just to exploit this bug is silly. I honestly beleive that D3D
detracts from the current HL experience greatly.
