Life-critical software is designed from the ground up with cross-checks and distrust, and then undergoes massive auditing to make sure the process was followed. I'm not asking for all the paperwork. I'm just asking for the attitude. At least think maliciously when you code and try to imagine the ways your code can be attacked.
