Without knowledge how serwer works internally and what problems programmers stumbled upon while implementing srcds we _can_not_say_anything_ about benefits/losses coming from multithreaded server. It becomes very academic discussion to me. Please stop speculating and drop the subject. Ah, there is one sure thing - multithreaded serwer is way harder to implement. So if it ever comes up expect it to have many bugs; at least in th begining. There are few places where SMP helps just out of the box: * system runs several processes at a time so load is balanced betwen CPU's * you can try to change IRQ cpu affinity to free up one cpu for srcds (though I don't belive it'll help a lot ) PS. English is not my native language so forgive me if what I wrote looks ugly ... :-) -- Mariusz Zielinski -- [ Content of type application/pgp-signature deleted ] -- _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux
