@Clayton : There are several threads in Steam forums, where
sv_enableoldqueries 1 helped people alot, at most to see the server in the
webbrowser (like www.cstiger.de). By the way the server is visble there....
Valve says : "Disable old style (non-challenged) server queries by default
(use the sv_enableoldqueries cvar to change this behavior)" --> to my
understanding that means Valve turned off an option to find servers.(perhaps
because of security) If I set it to 1, I enable old style queries + leave
the new style queries enabled....
Last but not least: I tried both settings --> no change

@James
This isnt a noob filter problem....
I have several computers at different locations to try from. My server isnt
on the steam master list thats for sure, and it is not a steam client
problem... Sorry

I have just setup a dedicated Half-Life Firearms Server on Linux and mine
displays in the Steam list.
Make sure your filter in the Steam program doesn't have the checkbox "Has
players playing" checked.
If that box is checked and no one is on your server it will not appear in
the server list.
Your server should appear at the very top of the list when you have the
filter settings correct.
Let me know if this was your problem.

Subject: [hlds_linux] Server not listed in Steam master server list

I have an uptodate linux dedicated CS:Source server @ 80.121.145.189:27015
behind NAT.
When I start the server all seems to be fine, Im getting "ADDING MASTER
SERVER 69.28.151.178:27011 ADDING MASTER SERVER 69.28.151.162:27011" and
later on "Connection to Steam Servers successful."
If I look for my server in the steam client I see the server + I can
connect
to it in the favorite menu, but it doesnt appear in the master list.
(Waited longer than 2 hours)
I have searched the support forums and tried everything I found there
(checked portforwarding, sv_enableoldqueries 1,set sv_region correct,
heartbeat command, setmaster, etc.), but nothing worked for me...
I also tried to start the server with the -IP <external IP> parameter, but
I
then I get the error "Couldn't allocate dedicated server UDP port." Server
restarting....
This problem occurs since the middle of may, before the server was on the
list without troubles.
PLEASE help me!!!(usually server is up from 5:00 pm to 1:00 am CEST)

regards
Gordian
