Am I missing something? There have been a number of people complaining about
-autoupdate not working, it seems to be working fine for me.

Here is my startup line if it matters

chrt -r 20 ./srcds_run -console -game tf -autoupdate -port 27015 -maxplayers
32 +map ctf_2fort
