If SPUF is anything to do by, a large portion of users are too stupid to locate the "Disconnect" button. And evidently, in the entire continent of Australia, there's not one single server that doesn't have Pinion. SPUF's words, not mine. Honestly, the best solution would be to only put Valve servers in the Quickplay pool. If Valve wants to control the player's experience when they use Quickplay, then Quickplay should only match you into Valve servers. Maybe then people will learn how to use the server browser again.
