William,

One of the best way to help with this is to adjust your schedule so
that you are warming up earlier.
That way you can be ready when the morning rehearsals start.

It is a good idea to schedule some practice schedules at the time that
you normally perform.

If your concerts are scheduled at 8 pm for example, try to schedule
some optimum practice sessions at 8 pm on days when you don't have
concerts.

The same idea would apply for morning rehearsals or concerts.

Early morning services are not only a pain for most players, but they
seem to be "outside of" our normal lifestyle.

Be that as it may, we still have to learn to play well during this
unfortunate scheduling.

Ever notice that most of these rehearsals and concerts are scheduled by
people in administration who never have to play?
