Simon, professional technique requires that you continue playing  
normally no matter the other players start laughing or else, just keep  
things going as normal. Remember Weber´s "Freischuetz" with the little  
waltz ending & disappearing with the afterbeats in the horns only for  
few measures, no downbeat. Bassoonist sitting in front of you & grunts  
the downbeat, 2nd horn starts giggling, conductor starts whiping tears  
from his eyes, - - but you continue undisturbed, ---- even ALONE.

Applause.   -- Now you can explode for laughter. That´s professional.

But it has to be learned  by "puckering face pfffft-pfffft - perhaps.
