Simon, professional technique requires that you continue playing normally no matter the other players start laughing or else, just keep things going as normal. Remember Weber´s "Freischuetz" with the little waltz ending & disappearing with the afterbeats in the horns only for few measures, no downbeat. Bassoonist sitting in front of you & grunts the downbeat, 2nd horn starts giggling, conductor starts whiping tears from his eyes, - - but you continue undisturbed, ---- even ALONE.
Applause. -- Now you can explode for laughter. That´s professional. But it has to be learned by "puckering face pfffft-pfffft - perhaps. ################################################################################################### Am 15.06.2010 um 06:20 schrieb Simon Varnam: > Hans wrote: > >> if the 1st horn has a dirty look to >> the 2nd just before the solo & makes a puckering mouth: pfffft-pffft. >> Works 100%. > > Glad I never HAD to play near you, Hans! > :-D > > Simon > > > > _______________________________________________ > post: [email protected] > unsubscribe or set options at > https://pegasus.memphis.edu/cgi-bin/mailman/options/horn/hpizka%40me.com _______________________________________________ post: [email protected] unsubscribe or set options at https://pegasus.memphis.edu/cgi-bin/mailman/options/horn/archive%40jab.org
