Hello Louis, You might want to try one of those adjustable, folding foot-stands that classical guitar players use under their left foot when they perform sitting down.
Mine's made by Wittner (Germany), has a rubber tread on it, and folds completely flat to about 5/8th's of an inch. And yes, it could be used under either foot :-) Gotta go and clear the drive; we received a late winter "present" of 20 cm's of heavy, wet snow overnight... <sigh!> I've had enough of old man winter!
