I've played on a cut-bell Paxman for over 20 years, so I can't comment on that horn, but I recently purchased a second horn and had the bell cut for convenience in travelling. The horn was very "live" before I cut the bell, and it is still just as live. There may be a slight difference, but I don't see it.
