Some people developing a "tennis arm" but have never played tennis.
Lawrence, the group tuned to each other, quickly, yes, because they listened to each other. They adjusted with the progress of the performance, WITHOUT anybody telling them, but they were ambitious enough to keep tuned at best. That´s the ONLY way to do it. People who cannot realize being sharp or flat, people not able or willing to subordinate themselves to leaders of the section & leaders of the orchestra or to the actual solo voice are a nightmare for any group, no matter if they support the group financially, perhaps.
