For the last year, I've been using a Drytac cold-mount laminator, model JM26. It can accept materials up to about 26" wide, and so easily accommodates 24" wide prints from the Designjet 130. I'm using Drytac equipment and materials as I found the technical people at Drytac to be extremely knowledgeable and helpful: FaceMount for face-mounting prints to plexiglas, and MediaTac for mounting to museum board or aluminum composite panels. Face-mounting is extremely demanding to do, and required that I build infeed and outfeed tables, carrier sleds, etc. It would be much easier with a laminator that had a motorized take- up roller to pick up the release film and I ended up adding a manual take-up reel to my laminator. Still, if all you need to do is to laminate prints to Dibond (aluminum), Sintra or Fome-Core, a laminator like this is ideal. I "pre-coat" a dozen panels at once with a material like MediaTac, and then run the panels through a second time to adhere the print. The precision of the construction is sufficient to give beautiful results.
